When Carter Taylor Seaton began working in figurative sculpture, most of the statues were glazed and fired to simulate portraits of her subjects. Now her work is more interpretative and is finished in pigmented and metallic patinas. Many patinas appear to replicate bronze. She considers her current body of work "narrative sculpture," which combines both of writing and sculpture. Most have an essay as an integral part of the work.
