The
Artist, Carter Taylor Seaton
Over the years, I've studied
with such master sculptors as Paul Lucchesi at the Loveland Academy
of Fine Arts in Loveland, Colorado and with Peter Rubino, Eugene
Daub, Steven Perkins and Stanley Bleifeld at the Armory Art Center
in West Palm Beach, Florida.
In 2000 I received a scholarship
from the Mountain State Art & Craft Fair and a Professional
Development Grant from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts
to further my studies in sculpture.
All of my creations are made
from water-based clay, fired and finished with a variety of patinas.
I make the finished product in clay rather than casting it in
bronze because I believe everyone should be able to own and enjoy
orginal art. Completing my designs in bronze would make them too
expensive for most people. Additionally, no casts are made and
no duplications are possible. Therefore, each piece is an orginal
work of art.
